He prays for bail. Trial is in progress. 19 witnesses have been examined.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record. There are evidences connecting the petitioner with the crime. Trial is in progress and 19 witnesses have already been examined. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

We direct the trial court to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within six weeks from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
