Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner complained of defective meter. No steps were taken. The initial provisional assessment bill was less than 2 lakhs.

Learned Advocate appearing for the Distribution Company submits that it is not a case of meter tampering but bypass of the main connection and stealing electricity. State is represented.

There are materials in the case diary implicating the petitioner in the theft of electricity.

The requirement of custodial interrogation of the petitioner cannot overlooked.

In such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. CRM (A) 4724 of 2022 is dismissed.
