The election of the Sthayee Samity which was scheduled to be conducted on 9th October, 2023, has duly been held.
The petitioners allege that the election was not conducted in accordance with the relevant rules. Prayer has been made for preserving the CCTV footages on the date of the election.
As regards the submission of the petitioners regarding non-compliance of the rules at the time of conducting the election, it will be open for the
petitioners to file appropriate petition alleging the same. The relief sought for cannot be granted in the present writ petition.
The Sub-Divisional Officer, Domkal and the Officer-in-Charge, Raninagar-II Panchayat Samity is directed to preserve the CCTV footages and videographs and produce the same before the Court as and when called for.
The writ petition stands disposed of.
Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
