Application for mutation filed by the petitioner on June 15, 2015 is pending consideration till date. The status of mutation as reflected in the official website of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation shows that the same is still in process.

The Court fails to understand as to why the application has been kept pending from June 2015 till date without intimating the petitioner the reasons for the delay in disposal of the same. It is the bounden duty of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to take steps to immediately dispose of the said application.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 6 being the Assessor-Collector (Tolly Tax Department) to take immediate steps to dispose of the application for mutation filed by the petitioner in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter. The aforesaid respondent shall intimate the petitioner the formalities required to be complied by him. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the search mutation status showing the case number and date of receipt to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
