Supplementary affidavit affirmed on 27th October, 2025 filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record.

Petitioners participated in the selection process for being appointed as Constable (G.D.) under Central Armed Police Forces (for short, 'CAPFs'). In Physical Standard Test (PST) height of the petitioners were assessed less than the requisite height, i.e., 170 cm. Thereafter, petitioners preferred appeals before the concerned authority but the grievance of the petitioners is that appeals are yet to be decided. 3.

Respondents are represented by learned advocate who has submitted that the Board which was constituted to decide the appeals is no more in existence. It is also submitted that concerned respondent authorities may be directed to decide the appeals of the petitioners.

From the submissions made on behalf of the parties, it appears that the Board constituted for the selection process is no more in existence and the appeals preferred by the petitioners questioning measurement of their heights, are till date not disposed of.

Hence, Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Forces, Head Quarters, Kolkata being respondent no. 7 is directed to decide the appeals of the petitioners relating to height by four (4) weeks from the date of communication of this order. Decision to be taken by the respondent no.7 shall be communicated to the petitioners by seven (7) days thereafter.

However, it is clarified that in the event petitioners' heights were found to be within the prescribed limit, consequential steps shall be taken for consideration of candidature of the petitioners for being appointed against the post of Constable (G.D.) under CAPFs. 7.

With the above directions, writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
