Mr. Panchanan Hazra, Advocate ......for the Petitioners Despite service there is no representation on behalf of the respondents. Let the affidavit of service filed in Court today be kept with the record. The instant writ-petition is filed raising a grievance on the delayed disposal of the tribunal application being OA 2362 of 2012 (LRTT). The photocopy of the certified copy of the orders passed in the said proceeding are annexed with the instant writ-petition. It appears that the said matter was lastly fixed on 25.03.2020.

According to the learned Advocate for the petitioner, the Tribunal has not fixed any date thereafter and the matter is still shown pending in the docket of the Tribunal.

It is really unfortunate that the matter which was filed as far back as in the year 2012 is yet to be disposed of. It is really a matter of concern that no further date is fixed by the Tribunal since last two years., Such a course of action is not appreciated as keeping the matter pending without fixing a date would percolate a wrong signal in the society and shall be opposed to the legislative intent for which the Tribunal was established.

We, therefore, direct the Tribunal to fix a date which shall not exceed 15 days from the date of communication of this order in presence of the respective Counsel and endeavour shall be shown to dispose of he same within two months therefrom in accordance with law.

With these observations, the writ-petition being WPLRT 148 of 2022 is disposed of.
