The applicant was an Assistant Teacher of Samali Bholanath High School, Bishnupur, District-24-Parganas (South). He remained absent in the school for the period from November 23, 2011 till September 30, 2017, i.e., the date of his retirement.

This Court by the order dated September 4, 2023 had directed the Managing Committee of the school to take appropriate resolution disposing of the prayer of the applicant for approval of his absence as extraordinary leave and to send the said resolution to the Board for follow up steps. The applicant is alleging that such direction has not been complied with though the school has taken the appropriate resolution.

Ms. Bardhan, learned advocate for the alleged contemnor nos.1 and 4 submits that the order, violation of which has been complained of, has been complied with; she files the compliance report dated March 18, 2025 which is taken on record.

It appears from the said report that the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education vide Memo No.24(SO344/24/G/1-4) dated March 6, 2024 has approved the prayer of the applicant for extraordinary leave without pay for the period from November 23, 2011 to September 30, 2017.

In view of such compliance, CPAN 1493 of 2024 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
