The present writ petition is almost in the nature of a mercy petition by which the petitioners seek intervention of the Court to impress the Bank to accept its one time proposal for settlement/liquidation of its dues.

Mr.

Chakraborty, learned Advocate appearing for the respondent Bank, submits that the property has already been sold, though possession has not yet been handed over. It is, thus, not possible for the Bank, under any circumstances, to consider the prayer of the petitioners at this rather belated stage.

In view of the aforestated, it is clear that the petitioners' right to redemption of the property

has long expired and cannot be rejuvenated at this stage.

Accordingly, the writ petition fails and is dismissed.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on usual undertaking.
