Mr. Tapas Manna ..for the State It is the grievance of the petitioner that his application for a Contract Carriage Permit has not been considered by the Regional Transport Authority, Hooghly (respondent no. 2).

The petitioner states that he submitted an application on January 28, 2025, but no steps have been taken by the said authority pursuant to such application. Mr. Chandi Charan De, learned advocate representing the State, submits that the petitioner's application shall be considered by the authority in accordance with law.

In view of the aforesaid submission, there is no justification to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Regional Transport Authority, Hooghly

(respondent no. 2) to consider the petitioner's application, appearing at page 17 of this writ petition, in accordance with law after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner within a period of six weeks from date. Accordingly, WPA 22347 of 2025 stands disposed of.
