The petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that their application for holding Durga Puja has not been considered by the Sub Divisional Officer, Ranaghat. Counsel for the State submits that the petitioner has not submitted the 14 documents required for permission to conduct the Durga Puja.

It further appears that the petitioner has not approached the Ranaghat Police Station for permission. In view of the above, the petitioners shall make an application afresh by tomorrow to the Sub Divisional Officer, Ranaghat with all necessary documents and the Sub Divisional Officer, Ranaghat shall take a decision immediately thereupon after being satisfied with the compliance.

The petitioners shall also apply to the Inspectorin-Charge, Ranaghat for the permission as above in course of the day.

The Inspector-in-Charge, Ranaghat shall take a decision immediately on the petitioners' application in accordance with law and communicate the same to the Sub Divisional Officer, Ranaghat and the petitioners by tomorrow.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

The instructions of the Inspector-in-Charge, Ranaghat Police Station, RPD, dated 28.09.2022 and the documents furnished by the petitioners regarding permission of Durga Puja are taken on record. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Rajasekhar Mantha, J.)
