The petitioner claims arrears of gratuity for service rendered in the Group-D category with the respondent no. 3.

The respondents submit that the petitioner has already been paid gratuity for the period that he was in permanent service. The petitioner now claims gratuity for the period that he worked as contractual/temporary employee.

The petitioner has effective alternative remedy before the controlling authority under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.
He may approach the authority in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
