1. Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner is taken on record.

2. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ application is that the petitioner has applied for grant of Scheduled Tribe certificate before the concerned authority and the same was duly registered on 24th July, 2025 but till date the concerned authority has not considered the application filed by the petitioner for grant of Scheduled Tribe certificate. Accordingly, he prays for a direction upon the concerned authority for disposal of the request made by the petitioner for grant of Scheduled Tribe certificate.

3. Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that the petitioner has made an application which was also admitted on 24th July, 2025. Accordingly, if a direction

is given to the concerned authority, the concerned authority will dispose of the same in accordance with law.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the respective parties. This Court finds that no purpose will be served by keeping this writ petition pending as the petitioner has already applied for grant of Scheduled Tribe certificate but the same has not been considered by the concerned authority.

5. Accordingly, the Sub-Divisional Officer, Medinipur Sadar at Medinipur is directed to dispose of the application filed by the petitioner on 24th July, 2025 in accordance with law. If the authority finds that the petitioner is entitled to get the Scheduled Tribe certificate, the same can be issued on compliance of all formalities within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and if the authority finds that the petitioner is not entitled to get the Scheduled Tribe certificate, the authority shall pass a reasoned and speaking order and to communicate the same within a week thereafter.

6. WPA 22554 of 2025 is disposed of.

7. As the writ petition is disposed of at the motion stage and no affidavit is called for, the allegations made therein are deemed to have been denied.

8. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

9. Urgent Photostat certified copy, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all formalities. (Krishna Rao, J.)
