Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner was granted police protection by this Court. With the help of police, she was able to return home. After that, threats and intimidations from the antisocial elements continued. Although police help was sought for, they did not help the petitioner in this regard and asked them to obtain relief from this Court. The petitioner again wants to go back home. They are having difficulty in getting food in the said locality. Even the shops were not delivering goods to them. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. The reason for the grudge of the local people against the petitioner have not been stated in the writ petition. The relatives of the petitioner were accused

in a murder case being Baruipur Police Station Case No.1868 of 2022 dated 07.12.2022 under Sections 302 and 34 of the Penal Code. However, in compliance with the order passed by this Court, police have rendered all kind of help so that the petitioner could return to her own house. In fact, she had returned. But, thereafter she was having some difficulty to find food and work there. So, they decided to leave the place. The petitioner had given all these in writing. The police picket is still there where it was posted.

The FIR lodged by the petitioner shall be properly investigated by the Officer concerned expeditiously and in accordance with law.

Let the respondent police authorities install a CCTV camera in front of the house of the petitioner that would cover the adjacent houses.

Let the petitioner intimate the exact date and time of intended return to the Officer-in-Charge of the local police station with a 24 hours' notice. Thereafter, the police authorities shall arrange for necessary police escort so that the petitioner can return in her own house.

The police pickets still continue at least for a period of two months from the date of return of the petitioner. Thereafter the Officer-in-Charge of the local police station shall analyse the security concerns and decide on whether to continue with the police picket further or not.

The respondent police authorities shall keep a sharp vigil at the locale and ensure that no breach of peace takes place.

If any untoward incident occurs or is apprehended by the petitioner, she shall be at liberty to call up the Officer-inCharge of the local police station and inform him about the same who shall then act in accordance with law. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
