Mahata Mr. Supratim Dhar ... ... for the State In this public interest petition the petitioners have claimed themselves to be eligible claimants of deceased farmer and have claimed the benefit under West Bengal Krishak Bandhu Scheme (Death Benefit) 2019.

According to the petitioners they are entitled to the benefit under the said scheme.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and on perusal of the pleadings contained in the petition as also the relief clause, we find that the petitioners are espousing their personal cause in this public interest petition. The petitioners have remedy of filing a regular petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India before the appropriate Bench. Hence, we decline to entertain the present petition, however, with liberty to the petitioners to take recourse to any other suitable remedy which is available under the law.

The allegations made in the petition have been orally denied by the learned counsel for the State.

Hence, this public interest petition is dismissed with liberty as mentioned above.
