Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept on record.

Despite service, none appears on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner appeared in an examination for recruitment to the post of 'Sanitary Assistant' in the Naihati Municipality as long back as in the year 2014. The final part of the said examination was over by the year 2015. However, despite the lapse of eight years thereafter, the results of the said examination have not been declared.

Since no defence is taken by the respondents and the respondents choose not to appear despite service, the writ petition is taken up for hearing on merits ex parte.

The petitioner, it is seen, has applied for an information regarding the outcome of the said

examination, in which he participated, but failed before the First Authority and has taken out an appeal before the appropriate forum.

However, in view of the innocuous nature of the query made by the petitioner, the said appeal need not be kept pending further.

Accordingly, WPA No. 22551 of 2022 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 3, that is, the Chairman, Naihati Municipality, to intimate the petitioner about the outcome of the examination-in-question and the result of the petitioner within three weeks from the date of communication of this order to the said respondent no. 3.

The respondent no. 3 shall act on the server copy of this order, coupled with written communication of the learned advocate for the petitioner, without insisting upon prior production of certified copy, for the purpose of compliance. Leave is granted to the petitioner, if dissatisfied with the information given by the respondent no. 3, to prefer a further challenge against the same.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the

parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
