Mr. Asim Kumar Chakraborty ... ... for the petitioners Mr. Lalit Mohan Mahata Mr. Supratim Dhar ... ... for the State This public interest petition relates to the alleged irregularities and defalcation in the implementation of project of construction of Eastern Stadium at Manikchak Play Ground under Manickchak Gram Panchayat.

The allegation of the petitioners is that the construction was taken up by the panchayat under 100 days work project and that the irregularities were committed in preparing master role and making the payment. It is alleged that the persons who do not exists or not eligible have been shown in the job cards and payments have been made.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has pointed out that the detailed representation dated 2nd February, 2022 in the form of legal notice was submitted to the respondent no.6, Block Development Officer and ExOfficio, Executive Officer. The said representation has not been decided till now.

Learned counsel for the State has submitted that the representation can be decided within a time bound period.

Hence, at this stage we dispose of the present petition without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter but directing the respondent no.6 to duly consider the petitioners'

representation dated 2nd February, 2022 in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (Prakash Shrivastava, C.J.) (Rajarshi Bharadwaj, J.)
