The petitioner complains that he is in custody for about two years and seven months. He prays for bail on the ground of delay in progress of the trial.

Learned State Advocate points out that November 26, 2024, has been fixed as the date for DW, in default argument.

We see that commercial quantity of ganja was seized from the petitioner. We are not inclined to grant bail to him, particularly since the trial is on the verge of conclusion.

The prayer for bail is rejected.

CRM (NDPS) 1449 of 2024 is dismissed.

6. However, considering the long period of incarceration of the petitioner, we direct the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same, by delivery of judgment, at the earliest and definitely by the end of this year.

7. The parties shall communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.
