The petitioner as a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya-II appeared in the secondary School Examination 2021 conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education("the Board"in short).

The petitioner is complaining that in the Admit Card and Marksheet-cum-certificate of the said Board Examination, his date of birth has been erroneously recorded as March 29, 2005 instead of March 19, 2005, he is praying correction of the said mistake.

Mr. Menon appears on behalf of the Board and submits that the mistake is apparent as it appears from the photocopy of the Birth Certificate and the Aadhar Card annexed with the writ petition but to carry out the necessary correction of his date of birth, the petitioner is required to submit some documents through the school. The Board by its letter dated July 24, 2023, being annexure P16 to the writ petition, has

requested the Principal of the school to submit the documents mentioned in the said letter and the school authority in turn, by a letter dated September 16, 2023 has requested the father of the petitioner to submit the relevant documents, he files photocopy of the said letter dated September 16, 2023, let it be kept with the record.

The petitioner, within a week from date, shall submit the documents necessary for the correction of his date of birth in the Admit Card and Marksheet-cum-certificate of the said Board Examination with the school authority and the said authority, immediately on receipt of the said documents, shall forward the same to the Board. The Board within four weeks from the date of receipt of the required documents, shall issue fresh Admit Card and Marksheet-cum-certificate to the petitioner upon necessary correction of his date of birth therein.

W.P.A. 22196 of 2023 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
