The wife of the petitioner was an approved Assistant Teacher of a primary school under Kolkata District Primary School. She had died-in-harness on September 6, 2021. The petitioner has applied for family pension.

Syed Nazmul Hossain, learned advocate for the State files a status report as on January 21, 2025 of the pension file of the petitioner; let it be kept with the record. It appears from the said report that pension papers has reached to the Director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.8 herein.

The said respondent is directed to take forward steps for issuance of pension payment order in favour of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order in accordance with law.

WPA 24785 of 2024 is disposed of with the above directions without any order as to costs.
