1. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that over a meeting to settle the matrimonial dispute, an altercation took place. The petitioner is innocent.

2. The learned counsel for the State in opposing the prayer has referred to the medical report and the statement of the injured.

3. Considering the materials available in the case diary, the nature and extent of complicity of the petitioner in the commission of the alleged offence and it transpires that the petitioner is one of the persons who have physically assaulted the victim with daw that had caused grievous injury on the scalp and she was admitted to the hospital for almost fiftyeight days, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.
