The order dated 21st July, 2023, passed by the Director of Local Bodies, West Bengal, Ex-officio JointSecretary, Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs has been placed in Court.

It appears therefrom that the appointment of the petitioner has been deemed to be approved. It was observed that the petitioner was appointed in the sanctioned vacant post of Tax Collecting Sarkar under erstwhile Kulti Municipality, now merged into Asansol Municipal Corporation.

By virtue of the order passed by the Director of Local Bodies, the appointment of the petitioner has been approved.

The petitioner has since retired from service. The department shall take necessary steps for clearing his terminal benefit at the earliest.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
