Erenda Amra Kajan Sarbajanin Durgosthab Committee v. State Of West Bengal And ORS.
10th October, (AK) W.P.A 22244 of 2023 Erenda Amra Kajan Sarbajanin Vs.
The State of West Bengal and others Mr. Sk. Sahajahan Mr. K.C. Das ...for the petitioner.
Mr. Suman Ghosh Mr. Soumen Chatterjee ...for the State.
1.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner wants to hold a private Puja but for abundant caution seeks permission for holding the same, since there may be objections from certain quarters, being the relevant authorities.
2.
Learned counsel for the State contends that although there is a policy decision of the State that no new Pujas would be permitted to apply online, the petitioner may apply physically before the concerned subDivisional Officer and the said authority will consider the same.
3.
In such view of the matter, WPA 22244 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the petitioner to make manual application before the respondent no.4, for obtaining permission as required to hold the petitioner's Puja.
4.
If such application is physically made, it will be considered irrespective of the fact that it is not made on the online portal by the respondent no.4 and a decision will be taken thereon within a week from the approach being made by the petitioner.
There will be no order as to costs.
Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
