Petitioner(s) Mr. Abhijit Ganguly Mr. Dip Narayan Mukherjee ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Abhishek Sinha Ms. Nahid Ahmed ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is similarly placed with another accused who has been granted bail by the learned Sessions Judge. Learned advocate for the State has produced the case diary and opposes the prayer for bail I have considered the materials appearing in the case diary against the present petitioner and compared the same with another accused, namely, Kalyan Kanti Das and I am of the opinion that both the accused are similarly situated as the other accused who was granted bail. Having considered the overall facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that the present petitioner should be extended the same benefit.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner viz, Jayanta Chakraborty shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand only), with two sureties of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned CJM, Purba Bardhaman.

If on bail, the petitioner shall make himself physically available before the learned trial court on each and every date so fixed by the learned trial court and shall not leave the jurisdiction of Purba Bardhaman without prior intimation to the learned trial court. The petitioner shall also meet with the Investigating Officer of the case once a week until further orders of this court.

In case, there is any violation of the aforesaid condition, the learned trial court would be at liberty to cancel the bail without further reference to this court. Accordingly, CRM(M) 1779 of 2025 is allowed.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
