Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a civil volunteer. He was on duty on June 4, 2022, on the date of the incident, at a different locale. The petitioner was falsely implicated.

Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the injury report and the statement of the victim recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code. He submits that the petitioner is named in the statements recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The victim suffered grievous hurt. There are eyewitnesses implicating the petitioner in the incident. The incident occurred on June 4, 2022 at about 1 PM. The alibi sought to be set up by the petitioner at this stage does not appear to be persuasive.

In such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected. CRM (A) 4852 of 2022 is dismissed.
