Petitioners are directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mr. M. F. A Begg, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Mr. Mitra, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner is aggrieved by the manner in which the Chinsurah P. S. Case No. 520 of 2016 dated 27-10-2016 is progressing. According to the learned advocate charge was framed in the year 2018, however till date out of the 7 cited chargesheet witnesses, only two witnesses have been examined.

Learned advocate submits that the next date is fixed on 4th November, 2023.

Having regard to the anxiety expressed by the petitioner who is facing the agony of a criminal case since the year 2016, I direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, 4th court, Hooghly to fix at least one date in every 20 days so that the trial of the case can be taken

to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. The public prosecutor conducting the case would assure the learned trial court regarding the availability of the witnesses and thereafter dates would be fixed. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to co-operate with the trial court so that the trial is concluded within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 3758 of 2022 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
