It is submitted on behalf of petitioner that he has been falsely implicated in the instant case. He prays for bail. There is delay in lodging FIR. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record. Statement of the minor victim implicates the petitioner, who is her maternal grandfather. Delay in lodging FIR must be assessed in the light of the close relationship between the parties.

In view of the materials on record and the gravity of the offence committed against a 8 year old girl, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.
