Galib Ms. Subhra Nag ... ... for the State Mr. Chayan Gupta Mr. Sandip Dasgupta Mr. Saaquib Siddiqui ... ... for the respondent nos.2 to 4 By this public interest petition the petitioner has raised the plea that it was conducting the Durga Puja since 2019 and that earlier the permission was granted by New Town Kolkata Development Authority, i.e. respondent no.4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though for holding Durga Puja 2022 on the ground in question the application was made to the respondent no.3, but till now no decision has been taken on the said application.

Learned counsel for the respondent nos. 2 to 4 has submitted that since there is certain dispute between two groups and some orders of injunctions have been passed by the learned Civil Court and on account of pendency of application under Order 39 Rule 2(a) against the respondent authority, the application has not been decided till now.

Once an application is made by the petitioner, the respondents can consider it and assign due reasons for accepting or rejecting it.

Learned counsel for the respondent nos.2 to 4 has submitted that there is no objection in taking an appropriate decision on the pending application within a time bound period.

In view of the above submission, the present petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.3 to take an appropriate decision in accordance with law on the petitioner's pending application dated 11th July, 2022 within a period of 24 hours from the time and date of receipt of a copy of this order.
