Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's husband was a professor at the respondent university. He passed away in 2021 but apart from payment of PF and gratuity, no other retiral benefits were released. This prompted the petitioner to move this Court earlier. By an order dated 09.10.2023 passed in WPA 20757 of 2023, necessary directions were passed to prepare the service book and the like and for taking steps regarding fixation of monthly pensioner leave encashment as early as possible. In spite of this, steps were not taken by the university authorities. The petitioner was constrained to file
the present writ petition. It is only after filing of the present writ petition that the sum in lieu of leave encashment was paid and arrear pension was also paid. But, the regular family pension has not started yet.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the University, upon instructions, submits that leave encashment and arrear pension has already been paid and quite automatically family pension will also be started in accordance with law.
The State is represented.
In view of the submissions advanced on behalf of the University that family pension would automatically be paid in accordance with law and expeditiously, no further order need be passed in this regard.
With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
