The petitioner no.1 is granted liberty to approach the Block Development Officer, Kultali Development Block, seeking reasons as to why the name of the petitioner no. 1 did not appear in the list published by the concerned Block Development Officer dated April 21, 2022 as an enlisted self-help group for supply of cooked mid day meal under Kultali Development Block.

The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the Nibedita Mahila Gram Swarajgar Dal was formed as per procedure and an application was made before the concerned Block Development Officer for enlistment as a self help group for supply of cooked mid day meal to different schools under Kultali Development Block.

The allegation is that the selection committee made selection of 20 such groups, but the petitioner no.1 was not amongst those selected.

If the petitioners file a representation before the concerned Block Development Officer, the same shall be disposed of in accordance with law. The reasons as to why the candidature of the petitioner no.1 was not considered shall be intimated to the petitioner no.2 by the Block Development Officer concerned, who was also a part of the selection committee.

The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the learned advocates' communication.
