The petitioner's prayer seeking permission for conducting Durga Puja over a private land over where the puja is allegedly being performed for quite some time has been rejected without assigning any reason.

Instructions forwarded by the Officer-in-Charge of Bhagabanpur police station dated September 19, 2025 placed before this court also does not disclose any reason for refusing such permission for holding the puja.

The writ petition is disposed of with the observations that it will be open for the petitioner to approach the Sub-Divisional Officer for obtaining permission who shall take a decision in accordance with law.
