The petitioner has obtained a General Nursing and Midwifery diploma from West Bengal Nursing Council in the year 2023.

It is submitted by the petitioner that she has been selected for B. Sc. Nursing course at Scudder College of Nursing, Tamil Nadu. The petitioner submits that unless she produces the original Diploma Certificate and the Registration Certificate from West Bengal Nursing Council, the said nursing college will not permit her to take admission.

The petitioner also suggests that despite making an application for the original Diploma Certificate and the Registration Certificate, the West Bengal Nursing Council has not yet issued the same.

I am of the view that to protect the academic interest of the petitioner, the West Bengal Nursing Council should have issued the original Diploma

Certificate and the Registration Certificate at the earliest.

In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the West Bengal Nursing Council to issue the original Diploma Certificate and the Registration Certificate to the petitioner within September 27, 2023 since the last date of admission at Scudder College of Nursing, Tamil Nadu is September 30, 2023.

Accordingly, WPA 22486 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
