The petitioner seeks a direction on the District Magistrate, Nadia to dispose of applications under Section 14 of the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (hereinafter referred to as the said 'SARFAESI Act'). Some of these applications as will appear from the concerned communication at page 152 of the petition have been pending since 2022. The process under Section 14 of the SARFAESI Act prescribes a specified time limit and it is imperative that such timelines are strictly adhered to. 3.

The State is represented and points out an order dated June 18, 2025 passed by this Hon'ble Court directing the District Magistrate, Purba Bardhaman in similar

circumstances to adhere to the timelines and dispose of the applications under Sections 14 of the SARFAESI Act. 4.

Mr. Ghosh appearing for the petitioner submits that the present applications before the District Magistrate, Nadia were not part of the writ petition being WPA 7795 of 2025 and hence not covered by the aforestated order of this Hon'ble Court dated June 18, 2025.

The respondent No.2 is directed to dispose of the Section 14 applications as entailed in the notice dated July 31, 2025 as expeditiously as possible, but within a period of six weeks from date, if not already disposed of.

6. With the aforestated direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

8. Since affidavits have not been called for, allegations contained in the petition are deemed to have been denied.
