It is submitted on behalf of the private respondents that there are serious title disputes insofar as the subject premises are concerned. The private respondents have also filed a proceeding for annulment of a 'patta' in respect of the subject premises.

Be that as it may, any title dispute insofar as the premises is concerned stands on a separate footing.

It is submitted on behalf of WBSEDCL that they have no objection in providing a separate

electricity connection.

However, they were obstructed by the private respondents from doing so.

In view of the above, WPA 22734 of 2025 stands disposed of by directing the respondent no. 5WBSEDCL to provide an electric connection at the subject premises in accordance with law and after complying with all statutory formalities. It is made clear that there has been no adjudication on the title disputes pending by and between the petitioner and the private respondents. This order is not to be interpreted as if there has been any adjudication on the right, title and interest in respect of the subject premises.

In case of any obstruction, WBSEDCL is permitted to take the assistance of the concerned police authorities being the respondent no. 6. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
