Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the petitioner-tenant having applied for a new electricity connection in his name at the tenanted premises, the CESC Limited has not given such connection till date.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited, however, submits that on September 22, 2022, the CESC Limited has rejected the petitioner's application for new connection on the apprehension of splitting of load. Since such a dispute is to be decided by the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO), WPA 22915 of 2022 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned GRO.

If the GRO is so approached, the said official shall decide the issue in accordance with law and subject to the law of limitation upon giving adequate opportunity of hearing to all concerned as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from such date of reference. The copy of the rejection order filed by learned counsel for the CESC Limited be kept on record. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
