Mr. Rahul Karmakar Ms. Gargi Goswami Ms. Ishita Kundu .....For the Petitioner Mr. Jayanta Samanta Mr. Kazi Sajjad Alam .....For the State The petitioner alleges that no steps have been taken by the police authorities in spite of a complaint lodged by the petitioner by a letter dated 5th September, 2024.

Mr. Samanta, learned advocate appears for the State and files the report of the Officer-in-charge, Ashoknagar Police Station dated 8th October, 2024 which is taken on record.

After going through the said report this court finds that on the basis of the aforesaid complaint of the petitioner, an FIR was registered being Ashoknagar PS case no. 492/24 dated 02.09.2024 under Section 79/352/351(2)/270 BNS. He further submits that the investigation is in progress. Raids have been conducted and on 4th October, 2024, the FIR named accused person surrendered before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barasat and was released on bail. It appears that the police authorities have taken steps on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner.

The concerned Investigating Agency is directed to conclude the investigation expeditiously.

With the above observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
