Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that his daughter has been missing and to that effect a case was registered being Tehatta PS Case No. 771/2022. Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that he has instructions till date the lady has not been recovered in spite of efforts being exhausted by the concerned Officer of Tehatta Police Station. In view of the period of time which has passed in the meantime, I direct that Tehatta Police Station Case No. 771/2022 be transferred to CID, West Bengal.

The ADG, CID, West Bengal will depute an officer of his choice from the particular department concerned for progressing with the investigation. So far as tracing out of the victim lady is concerned, the Officer-in-Charge, Missing Persons

Bureau will put in efforts by exhausting the regular procedures.

The Investigating Officer so engaged for the purpose of Tehatta PS Case No. 771 of 2022 and the Officer-in-Charge of the Missing Persons Bureau, CID West Bengal would report once in a month to ACJM, Tehatta regarding the steps so taken for both on the merits of the case as well as for tracing out the victim. With the aforesaid observations WPA 23356 of 2024 is disposed of.

Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta would communicate this order to the ADG, CID West Bengal.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
