1. An innocuous prayer is made for expeditious disposal of an original application, which is pending before the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, Third Bench, since 2018.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that repeated adjournments were given to the Government Pleader to file affidavit-in-opposition to the original application; whereas learned Senior Government Advocate submits that both parties have been taking adjournments before the Tribunal. It is also submitted on behalf of the State that the records are already before the Tribunal and the matter can be disposed of expeditiously.

3. Accordingly, WPLRT No. 162 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the respondents to file their affidavit(s)- in-opposition to the original application, bearing OA No. 3158 / 2018 (LRTT), within a fortnight from

date before the Tribunal. Affidavit-in-reply thereto, if any, shall be filed within a week thereafter.

4. The West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal, Third Bench, shall take up OA No. 3158 of 2018 expeditiously by shifting back the next date fixed and positively dispose of the same in accordance with law by the end of December, 2025.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties at an early date.
