Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mr. Madhusudan Sur, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that Dum Dum Police Station Case No. 701 of 2015 was registered on 16th July, 2015 for offences under Sections 498A/304B of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The said case after the investigation was over has been committed to the court of sessions and has been renumbered as SC No. 112 of 2017.

. Records of this revisional application reflect that on 30th August, 2023, the learned Additional District Judge, 3rd court, Barrackpore has been pleased to fix 11th March, 2024 for consideration of charges.

Having considered the fact that more than 8 years have passed since the initiation of the case and till date charges have not been framed, I direct the learned trial court to give priority to the present case by at least completing the process of consideration of charges on 11th March, 2024 or within a fortnight thereafter. The learned trial court would thereafter fix schedule consisting of three dates and fix such schedule on each and every month so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate in charge of Dum Dum Police Station will act as Nodal Officer of this case and will ensure that the witnesses are present on the date so fixed by the learned trial court. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the date fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned.

All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to cooperate with the trial court on and from 11th March, 2024 so that the trial of the case is concluded at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 3641 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
