The petitioner intends to obtain certified copy of the deed in respect of certain plots of land. The same not been provided to the petitioner, the instant writ petition has been moved.

Learned counsel for the State has obtained instruction from the Additional District SubRegistrar, GOAS, Murshidabad dated September 24, 2024 which mentions that parts of pages in both volumes and index related to deed bearing no. 1851/1983 & 1852/1984 are missing.

Simultaneously, missing of parts of both volumes and index has raised doubts and the same was informed to the District Registrar, Murshidabad. A search committee on the instructions of the District Registrar was formed headed by the Head Assistant to search those missing parts. Despite search, the missing parts were not found. A complaint has been registered before the Islampur police station by lodging a general diary.

The District Sub-Registrar is, therefore, directed to look into the issue and take steps for

consideration of the petitioner's prayer for grant of certified copy of the subject deeds.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
