Order dictated by Arijit Banerjee, J.:

The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected earlier on November 18, 2019. The petitioner says that he is in custody for eight years four months.

Learned Public Prosecutor points out that the argument is in progress before the learned Trial Court. There is clinching evidence against the petitioner. The charge is of murder. There are eye witnesses. If convicted, the petitioner faces imprisonment for life. We, however, told today is the date fixed for further argument. 3.

Considering that there is very strong material against the petitioner and the trial is on the verge of conclusion, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

CRM (DB) 3160 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

Considering the fact that the petitioner is in custody for a long period of time, we direct the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial at the earliest.
