This is an application for a direction upon the learned Judge, Special Court under the NDPS Act, Nadia for expeditious disposal in N case No.79 of 2021 arising out of Gangnapur Police Station Case No.139 of 2021 dated 3rd August, 2021 under Section 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Having heard the learned Advocate for the petitioner and on perusal of the petition, I find that the instant revision can be disposed of here and now with the assistance of the learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge. Mrs. Purnima Ghosh, learned Advocate is requested to assist this Court on behalf of the State. Appointment of Mrs. Purnima Ghosh be regularized by the learned Public Prosecutor, High Court, Calcutta.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner was arrested on 3rd August, 2021 allegedly while possessing Narcotic Drugs above commercial quantity. A case under Section 21 (c ) of the NDPS Act was registered against him. Subsequently, police submitted on 18th July, 2022. Thereafter, supplementary charge-sheet along with chemical examination report was also submitted. The Trial Court framed charge against the accused on 14th March, 2023 and the next date is fixed for examination of the witnesses in the month of May, 2023. There are in all 12 witnesses.

On perusal of the materials on record, I do not find any laches on the part of the learned Trial Judge. However, the learned Trial Judge is requested to take expeditious step for disposal of the above-mentioned case.

The instant revision is accordingly disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to act on the server copy of the order. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.) Mithun De/ A.R. (Ct).
