Mr. K.M. Hossain, learned advocate for the petitioners undertakes to make good of the deficit court-fees in course of this day.

The petitioners are the Craft Instructors at Vivekananda Loksiksha Niketan, an institution for the visually impaired and the mentally retarded children. The Institution is sponsored by the Department of Mass Education, Extension and Library Services, Government of West Bengal.

The Directorate of Mass Education Extension by an order bearing no. 410/ME/PH dated May 11, 2007 had approved the appointment of the petitioners with a rider that if the training qualification is not completed within three years they will not get any incremental benefit, The grievance of the petitioners is that in spite of completion of such training qualification within the said time time, they are not getting the scale of pay of the trained Craft Instructor. It appears from the record that the District Mass Education Extension Officer, Purba Medinipur, the respondent no.4 herein by a communication dated March 3, 2025 has furnished the necessary details of the petitioners to the Director of Mass Education Extension, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.3 herein.

The respondent no.3 is directed to take up the issue of grant of scale of pay of trained craft instructor through the Department of Mass Education Extension and Library Services with the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order, enabling the

Finance Department to take appropriate steps on the said issue in accordance with law.

WPA 23338 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
