The petitioners have approached this Court for quashing of a criminal case being G.R. Case No. 1450 of 2020 under Sections 498A/323/341/354/509/34 of the Indian Penal Code presently pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, 3rd Court at Paschim Medinipur.

It is ascertained from the submissions made by the learned advocate for the petitioners that trial of the above mentioned case has already been commenced and it is now at the stage of witness action. At this stage, a criminal proceeding cannot be quashed.

Accordingly, the instant revision is dismissed. However, the trial Court is directed to take expeditious step for disposal of G.R. Case No. 1450 of 2020. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.)
