This is an application praying for police inaction in respect of Narendrapur Police Station Case No.759 of 2023 dated 15.08.2023 under Sections 302 and 201 of the Penal Code.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the de facto complainant and the brother in law of the victim deceased. On 14.08.2023, the victim was murdered by some miscreants. On the very next day, an FIR was lodged. But investigation is not being done properly.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report, which is taken on record and the case diary and submits as follows. During investigation, witnesses were examined and necessary seizures were effected. After consulting CCTV footages from the nearby CCTV cameras, three persons have already been arrested. A statement of the de facto complainant has also been recorded under Section

164 of the Code. As the investigation is at a nascent stage it will take some more time to conclude the investigation. Heard the learned counsels for the parties and perused the report and the case diary.

It appears that the investigating officer is making efforts to unearth the truth as of now.

Let the investigation be concluded expeditiously and in accordance with law.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
