The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the copy of this writ petition has not yet been served upon the respondents.

Mr. Wasim Ahmed, learned Advocate, who usually appears for the State, is present in Court and is requested to appear on behalf of the State in this matter.

Let the appointment of Mr. Ahmed along with a junior of his choice be regularized by the Legal Remembrancer.

The petitioner alleges that the police authorities have not taken any steps on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner by a letter dated July 18, 2024.

In view of the order sought and proposed to be passed, this Court feels that there is no

necessity to direct the petitioner to effect service on the private respondent.

Since the complaint has been lodged, it is the duty of the police authorities to take steps on the basis of such complaint. If the complaint discloses a congnizable offence, the police authorities shall take steps in accordance with law including registration of an FIR. If the Inspector-in-Charge of Naihati Police Station, decides against the registration of the FIR, reasons thereof are to be communicated to the petitioner and the private respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order.

With the above observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
