Mr. Madhu Jana Mrs. Puja Sonkar ...for the State The petitioner undertook construction of individual household latrine in terms of work order issued to him and completed construction of 283 latrines. He submitted bills against which part payment of Rs.6,72,000/- was made. An amount of Rs.27,24,000/- is still due. By a letter issued on March 22, 2024 to the Block Development Officer, Narayangarh Development Block, the Pradhan, Belda I Gram Panchayat requested fund for payment of the remaining amount to the petitioner. Representation was submitted on behalf of the petitioner before the authority on August 08, 2024 seeking disbursal of the entire due. The amount is still unpaid.
In view of the fact that the letter issued by the Pradhan on March 22, 2024 records that the construction was completed by the petitioner in terms of the work order
issued in his favour and part payment of the bills raised by him has been made, the Block Development Officer, Narayangarh Development Block, being the 6th respondent herein, is directed to disburse the amount of Rs.27,24,000/- in favour of the Pradhan, Belda I Gram Panchayat, being the 11th respondent herein, within 8 weeks from the date of communication of this order. On receipt of the fund, the 11th respondent shall disburse the same in favour of the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.
The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
