The petitioners are the heirs and legal representatives of one Shankar Hela, deceased employee of the Garulia Municipality. The employee died-in-harness on 27th August, 2014.

The petitioners claim terminal benefits of the deceased employee.

Learned advocate representing the Municipality submits, upon instruction that, all the papers of the deceased employee have been sent to the office of the Director of Local Bodies on 20th December, 2023. The State respondent is not represented.

As it appears that the principal employer has already forwarded the documents of the deceased employee to the Director of Local Bodies, the Director of Local Bodies is, accordingly, directed to take steps for computation of terminal benefits including pension and other admissible dues and for releasing the same at the earliest but positively by 30th April, 2024.

The Director of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance shall take prompt steps for issuance of Pension Payment Order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
