Mr. Chayan Gupta Mr. Aviroop Mitra ..for WBSEDCL It is the grievance of the petitioners that they submitted a representation before the Chief Engineer, Central Commercial Department, West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), seeking replacement of their existing meter with an "ABT Compliant Meter for Open Access Power Sourcing." However, their prayer has not yet been acceded to. The learned advocate appearing on behalf of WBSEDCL submits that the representation of the petitioners, appearing at page 53 of the writ petition, will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the respective submissions made by the parties, this Court finds no reason to keep the writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the appropriate authority of WBSEDCL to consider the representation of the petitioners, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If deemed necessary, the said authority shall afford the petitioners an opportunity of hearing before arriving at a final decision.

Accordingly, WPA 22966 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied, for be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
