1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. None appears on behalf of the private respondent. The postal article addressed to the private respondent has come back unserved with the postal endorsement 'refused'.

3. Instruction forwarded by the Assistant Engineer & Station Manager, Talpukur CCC signed on 24th September, 2024 is taken on record.

4. The petitioner prays for a direction upon WBSEDCL to provide a separate electricity connection in his favour.

5. Learned advocate representing the Distribution Company Limited submits, upon instruction that, the petitioner has deposited the quoted amount but the connection could not be given because of the resistance and objection from the landlord.

6. Electricity being an essential commodity, the petitioner ought not to be deprived from enjoying the same.

7. In view of the above, the Assistant Engineer & Station Manager, Talpukur CCC, North 24 Parganas is directed to take steps to provide electricity connection to the petitioner, in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a

period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

8. The Officer-in-Charge, Titagarh Police Station is directed to ensure that there is no breach of peace in the locale and no resistance is caused by the private respondent at the time of installation of the meter in the name of the petitioner at the subject premises.

9. The writ petition stands disposed of.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
