The writ petitioner prays for consideration of his representation dated July 26, 2022.

The case of the writ petitioner is that his father died in-harness on May 9, 2006. The petitioner applied for appointment on compassionate ground. The petitioner was interviewed pursuant to a selection process held for the candidates who applied for compassionate appointment in died-in-harness category on March 20, 2016.

After the said selection process was held nothing was informed to the petitioner regarding his appointment on compassionate ground.

Prosenjit Mukherjee, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the representation of the petitioner dated July 26, 2022 was not responded to by the respondent nos.2 and 3.

Mr. Kallol Kr. Basu, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that only eight candidates were short-listed from 231 candidates in the died-in-harness category. He submits a list of the shortlisted candidates dated November 7, 2016. Let the said list be retained with the record. Having considered the rival contentions of the parties and materials on record, this Court directs the respondent no.2 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated July 26, 2022. Admittedly, the petitioner was not informed regarding the fate of his application after the interview was held on March 20, 2016. Let the representation of the petitioner be disposed of within eight weeks from date upon giving a personal hearing to the petitioner.

A reasoned order is to be communicated within two weeks from the date of hearing.

Since no affidavits have been invited, let all the allegations contained in the writ petition be deemed not to have been admitted by the parties.

All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Hon'ble Court.
